Ocean, Lakes, and Canals

Know Your Swimming Area!

Swim near a Lifeguard and be aware of water conditions.
When in doubt, don't go out.
Look before you leap, do not dive into unknown waters.
Know the conditions below the surface of the water and be aware of

           sudden drop off areas.
If caught in a rip current don't fight it. Swim parallel to the current

           and then to shore.
Make sure all family members know how to swim.

All adults and children should learn how to swim.
Constant adult supervision is key to preventing water related injuries.
Always swim with a buddy.
